LG air conditioners are now more power-efficient than ever before. With the dual inverter technology, it is now possible to get the optimal cooling for your home with less power consumption, thanks to LG Wi-Fi 5-star ACs with their convertible feature.

Cooling your home rooms comes at the cost of paying for high electricity bills. However, using LG's energy-efficient dual inverter ACs will help save you from high electricity bills, and you still can get the required cooling for your home.

LG 5-star Wi-Fi ACs are smart in the sense that they support the remote control feature through your smartphone. This remote control feature is made possible by the LG ThinQ app. Using this app, you can lower your reliance on your AC’s remote and can control it from any part of the world.

And here’s the exciting part—throughout this guide, you’ll learn how to easily connect your LG 5 Star Wi-Fi AC, whether it’s a split or window model, to the LG ThinQ app on both Android and iOS. By the end, you’ll be ready to enjoy a smarter, hassle-free way of keeping your home cool.

What Is the LG ThinQ App and Why Should You Use It?

The LG ThinQ is a smart home hub that lets you manage your LG appliances over Wi-Fi. With this app, you can control or configure almost any home appliance that supports Wi-Fi. You can add your LG AC, refrigerator, oven, washing machine, dishwasher, air purifier, etc., and manage them from a single app.

With the LG ThinQ app, you can command your AC to start operating with your desired cooling way before you step into your room. This feature is extremely useful, as you will get your room already cooled when you are getting back to your home on a hot summer day. Just ask someone at your home to power on the AC and the Wi-Fi for you.

Now, let’s walk through how to set up the LG ThinQ APK on Android, step by step. If you’re using an iPhone or iPad, don’t worry—the process is nearly identical, so you can follow along too.

FAQ — Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. What is Energy Manager Plus in LG AC?

Energy Manager Plus is a smart feature in LG ACs that monitors and limits power consumption. It lets you set daily or monthly energy targets, view real-time usage, and receive alerts when consumption nears limits. Use it to schedule runtime and manage settings so cooling stays comfortable while reducing electricity bills.

Q2. Which mode is best for LG AC to save electricity?

The best energy-saving option is Energy Saver or Eco mode. It cycles the compressor and uses fan operation to maintain temperature with less power. For mild weather, using fan mode or setting a slightly higher target temperature (by 1–2°C) also reduces electricity consumption noticeably.

Q3. Does the energy saver on AC really work?

Yes. Energy Saver reduces compressor runtime by switching to fan operation once the set temperature is near, cutting overall power use. Effectiveness depends on room insulation, outside temperature, and setpoint. It won’t deliver maximum cooling instantly, but it lowers energy consumption while maintaining comfortable conditions for normal use.

Q4. What is 6 in 1 mode in LG AC?

The 6-in-1 (convertible) mode lets you choose from six cooling capacities — reducing or increasing the AC’s effective tonnage. By selecting lower steps you use less power for light cooling needs; higher steps deliver full capacity when required. It provides flexible, energy-efficient cooling tailored to room conditions.

Conclusion

With the LG ThinQ app and your LG 5 Star Wi-Fi AC, staying comfortable while saving energy has never been easier. From controlling your AC remotely to scheduling cooling times, adjusting airflow, monitoring energy usage, and setting monthly consumption limits with Energy Manager+, you’re in full control of your comfort and electricity bills. These smart features don’t just make life more convenient—they help you enjoy cooling without worrying about overspending.
